How to play

Mahjong Impossible is a variation of Mahjong solitaire - a classic puzzle game in a web browser. Players need to eliminate all the tiles on the board by matching pairs of identical tiles. Each tile has its own image or symbol, and you can only choose tiles that are free, not blocked by other tiles to the left, right, or above.

At the start of a game, hundreds of tiles are arranged in a complex layout. In Mahjong Impossible, these layouts are often designed to be more challenging, with many layers and thick stacks of tiles.

You will use your mouse (or tap touchscreen) to select and match two identical tiles. When matched correctly, that pair will disappear from the board.

On-screen displays

The Mahjong Impossible interface includes:

• Tile board: Where the tiles are stacked in layers.
• Remaining tile counter: Shows how many tiles are still left on the board.
• Support toolbar: Function buttons, such as Mix, Hint, and Undo, help you play more effectively when stuck.

In addition, the screen also displays the current score and time to help you track your progress.

Support tools

Players can use the support tools available in Mahjong Impossible to handle and connect pairs of cards faster when stuck or want to experiment with different strategies:

• Mix: Shuffles all the remaining tiles on the board. When the layout is too difficult, and there are no open pairs, this function helps create new opportunities to find a suitable pair.
• Hint: Suggests a suitable tile pair. If you are unsure which pair to delete next, the Hint button will highlight a potentially matchable pair.
• Undo: Undoes the previous move. When you accidentally choose a bad pair, Undo allows you to go back and try a different option, which is very useful when you want to keep important tiles below the layers above.

Skillful use of support tools is crucial to overcoming difficult layouts and improving your pair-argument skills in complex levels.
