Hexa Sort
Why can't I stop sorting hexagons?
Hexa Sort is a relaxing yet mentally stimulating puzzle game in which players can arrange and merge colorful hexagonal tile stacks to clear the board.
This game has quickly become my go-to for killing time because it balances simple mechanics with surprisingly deep strategy. At first glance, it looks like a simple color-matching task, but after a few rounds, you realize it's all about spatial awareness. The satisfaction of watching a massive stack of tiles zip across the grid to merge with its neighbors is incredibly cathartic.
Mastering the mechanics of Hexa Sort
Controls: drag and drop the tile stacks from the bottom tray onto the hexagonal grid.
If you place a stack next to another stack with the same top color, those tiles will automatically jump over to merge. Once a stack reaches a certain height or completes a color set, it clears, earning you points and opening up precious space.

When the board starts filling up, the pressure mounts. Much like the spatial logic required in Block Blast, you have to think several steps ahead. If you block yourself in with mismatched colors, you will run out of moves fast. I try to keep my center tiles open for large merges while tucking single colors into the corners to manage the workflow efficiently.
Tips and tricks from my gameplay
- Prioritize large merges: Look for spots where suitable placement can trigger a chain reaction across multiple adjacent hexes rather than dumping tiles anywhere.
- Watch the stack height: Try to keep things balanced, as high stacks are great for clearing board space, but they can also block your view of what colors are underneath.
- Save your Power-ups: Save tools like the hammer or the swap icon for when you are one move away from a Game Over.
- Color grouping: I try to designate specific zones on the board for primary colors to avoid clutter.
